Three and a half stars.

I hate every single fucking character.

One of the few books I was forced to read in high school that I actually enjoyed.

Incredibly depressing. 5 stars.

Okay, I'm adding to this. Only read this book if you genuinely hate yourself, but have had a fairly decent week so far and you don't really like that feeling of comfort.

Good Lord, I don't know when I'll stop crying. This book broke me in so many pieces. It was so awfully tragic yet enduringly sweet. Sue Bridehead has become my new favourite literary heroine even though I fear that I'll lead myself down the same path of suffering.

It was the the last half of the book that undid me
dark emotional sad slow-paced

Too melodramatic and Gothic. Very unlike his others.

A tough read for many reasons. I really loved the other Hardy novels I read, but this one is very tough to say that about. Poor, poor Jude.

Did not enjoy. Read for college

Bleak, bleak, bleak, but that's Hardy for you!
