I want to read everything she’s written
Serious understated brilliance here. Each essay is a gem, each crystallizing why feminism is still so incredibly important today.
Unfortunately, I believe there are some other books out there that have a more thorough approach to discussing these issues. I recommend “Beyond the Double Bind: Women and Leadership” by Kathleen Hall Jamieson. Anyone reading this book should keep in mind the time it was written, as well as look into the author’s reasoning and background for writing this short book.
This felt too flat and feminism 101. Did not hold my attention.
This book is an interesting collection of essays. I didn’t enjoy all of them equally but generally speaking, this was a well written book that touches on a lot of difficult topics. Final rating: 4/5.

This is a wonderful collection of anecdotal and informative essays with the theme of the various ways in which women are not treated as humans with the same rights and privileges as men, whereby the essays also correctly acknowledge that humans cannot be divided into two gender categories.

I went into this book with high expectations: it has such an interesting title and topic. However, realizing that really there is only one essay that addressed Men Explain Things to Me, was a bit disappointing. There were some essays that were very good and others that I feel didn’t belong at all in this novel (Virginia Woolf). I’m glad I read this, but it was very repetitive- I had to check at one point if one paragraph was identical to one in a previous essay, because they were so similar. This was also heavier on literature analyses rather than modern texts, which just isn’t my preference. Overall, it is fine (currently very out of date) and contains good information. 3⭐️
