Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica is a slow-burn thriller that pays off in the best way. The first half of the book focuses heavily on character development and well-placed flashbacks, laying the groundwork for the gripping twists to come. Once the twists started unraveling, I was completely hooked and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. The reveal of the killer was shocking and brilliantly executed—I never saw it coming! A compelling read for fans of twisty psychological thrillers.

Mary Kubica never fails to produce a great story! Didn’t see the ending, that’s for sure.

Loved this book!! So many twist and turns.

If you’re looking for a true THRILLER, this is it. There is a lot of built up suspense throughout the book with the twists and turns unraveling quickly at the end. I was on edge the entirety of the book. I LOVE books that are written from the perspectives of different characters — it keeps the plot intriguing. I only give this a 4 out of 5 because a part of the ending wasn’t very suspenseful (I felt) and was a bit too predictable. I also would appreciate an extended or bonus chapter from Delilah’s POV. Overall, highly recommend for the thriller lovers out there or anyone just starting to dabble in thrillers.

I liked this book more than I thought I would. Around the middle of the book, I started to get impatient. Like, come on, get on with it. The twist actually surprised me. Part of me was annoyed with the amount of red herrings. In the end, this was a quick read, and I enjoyed it.
