Murder With a View is the third in a delightful cozy mystery series. In this installment Buck and Whitney purchase an old motor motel to flip into kitschy condos. They didn’t expect it to come with the murdered corpse of a rising country star. This terrific tale has plenty of suspects and lots of inside dish of the country music recording industry. I found this a riveting story with marvelous characters. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone just fine.

Murder With a View is the 3rd instalment in the House Flipper Mysteries series by Diane Kelly. This is first book I have read in the series, and it can be read as a standalone. I have since purchased the previous ones so I can be all caught up in time for book 4 when they flip an abandoned church.

I liked Whitney and her cat Sawdust, it would give you both their thoughts from chapter to chapter which was kind of neat. I also enjoyed the setting of Nashville, Tennessee. Being avid watcher of house flipping shows I rather enjoyed it being the theme of this series.

The mystery is interesting and had lots of twists which kept me guessing. I had no idea who the killer was till Whitney did.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from St.Martin Press and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Murder With a View by Diana Kelly is the third book in the Nashville-set House-Flipper Mystery series, Whitney, Buck and their silent partner, Presley Pearson buying a one-story motel dated back in 1960's. Whitney and Buck find Jimmy Weber from Florida living at the motel. Jimmy has been traveling and decided to stay at the abandoned motel while he was in the area. Whitney, Buck, and Jimmy start demolition on the motel. In one of the rooms Whitney's cat, Sawdust find a body and it just happens to be country-western singer, Beckett Morgan. Detective Collin Flynn is on the case t0 figure out who killed Beckett Morgan.

This book has lots of twist and turns regarding Beckett Morgan murder and Collin along with the help of Whitney are hoping to solve this mystery before the grand opening of the Music City Motor Court Condominiums.

I really enjoy this book and I'm looking forward to Diana Kelly's next one. I love how she has developed the characters, along with making you feel like to you right there along with the renovation and solving the murder.

Title: Murder with a View
Author: Diane Kelly

Ch: 32

Pg: 325

Series: A House Flipper Mystery

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: St. Martin’s Press

Murder with a View by Diane Kelly is the third book in the House-flipper mystery. Whitney and her cousin Buck are trying to flip an old hotel into modern apartments when they discover yet another body. And the mystery in this one kept me on my toes.

And like previous books in the series I enjoyed the chapters from sawdust’s point of view Whitney’s cat.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

This was another fun mystery/house flipping story! Really enjoyed spending more time with these characters, and I can't wait for the next installment, and the next flip!

Thanks to the publisher, via Netgalley, for an advance e-galley for honest review.

While it's the third book, I felt that the series really hit its stride with this one. Nashville really became a character here, and the setting really sang (ha, pun not intended). My favorite parts of cozies are getting to really know a community and the characters over a series, and this delivered that really well. It seemed to me that the chapters from the cat's perspective were minimal (I'd be fine with this element being completely phased out), which I appreciated. The mystery was good (I definitely mentally substituted a real country singer for the one here), and I loved the motel that Whitney and Buck were rehabbing. All in all, very solid, and I'm committed now to continuing this series.
