Tibb and her band of outcast companions were a delight to spend time with. The larger critique of people using religion and class and gender as justification to punish, mistreat, and villainize others was a clever approach to historical fiction, all through Tibb's endearing voice and point of view.

Tibb is a very engaging main character and the friendships she gains throughout the story are a great example of found family. The writing style took a bit to get used to but I soon warmed to Tibb’s turn of phrase and thoroughly enjoyed this.
