Reads like a fanfiction but is fun. Sometimes the book seems repetitive. Not much scenery change.

I have to admit that I started reading these books mostly as a joke. I, like many others, saw the series on BookTok and was curious. After reading the first, I did enjoy it very much. I liked this one even more. I typically am not a fan of the writing style in many "spicy" books, per se, a lot of the time the writing tends to be sloppy but I think that Dixon has developed a great mix of funny and yet descriptive writing. A lot of them the literature of the writing is almost non-existent in these types of books but I really appreciate Dixon's style. Her characters are fun, lovable and real and I enjoy that about these books. She is also quite a decent world builder which is also something that can be lost in romantic books. These books are fun and cute and sexy and I thoroughly enjoy them.

MILD SPOILER

I liked it. Was it better than the first book? No I don't think so. Was it worth reading? Definitely. I didn't like Liz so much in the beginning. I viewed her as pretty self-centered but it got better towards the middle of the book. I liked raahosh from the beginning. Yeah he did some fucked up stuff but ig life as a hunter is different.

Now I was surprised to Form a dislike for Georgie. She was just not listening, no one was. Personally if I was Liz I wouldn't have taken the punishment they got. Being forced to hunt for a tribe that separated you from your loved one, hell nah.
I probably would have raised my middlefinger and said fuck yall. Feed yourself.

ANYWAY
Breeding kink ✔️
Possessive mmc ✔️
Strong fmc ✔️
For the smut I would give it like a 3,8/5 🌶 or a generous 4. Depends on your personal taste. This book does not immediately jump into spice. But it has a good and interesting way of building up I believe.

I liked the book but not as much as the first one. I can't pinpoint exactly what didn't make love it as much but still, it was a great ride!

Just as good as the first book, I can’t believe how invested I got in the story (especially at the end) but here we are ig

First, I love how each book (at least so far) doesn’t just revolve around the main couple and that’s it, but that other characters (mainly the main characters for the next book) are also introduced and we first get to know them through the eyes of the current protagonists - makes it even more fun to read the next book because you already feel like you know the characters a bit, but now get to know what’s actually going on inside them

Liz is such a fun protagonist, her snide comments about everything genuinely made me laugh while reading and didn’t come off as edgy or cringey
And although her character was written to act basically in the opposite way to Georgie in the first book and to want different things than the other girls as well, Liz didn’t have any of those “I’m not like other girls” monologues going on, which I really appreciated lol

The romance and how their relationships progresses was also just really fun to read, has that whole enemies-to-lovers trope going on and the characters really grew on me while reading
Still not a fan of the whole family/babies trope, but it’s inevitable with this series so whatever, although the pregnancy was used as a little more of a plot device in this book which I didn't really like

Also also didn’t expect to find some form of social-political commentary/conflict in these books, but hey, world building in the alien sex books who am I to complain, I actually quite enjoyed that the main conflict at the end related back to Raahosh’s past as opposed to being due to a conflict between him and Liz and it was nice reading how invested Liz was in him and their relationship as well

This is another entertaining book. Liz and Raahosh are great. I loved the banter between the two and I love how Liz fought for their relationship when they get taken back to the tribe, and how all Raahosh cares about is that Liz is safe happy and taken care of. They both may be very stubborn but they're perfect together. I'm really enjoying this series so far and can't wait to get into the third book.

Re-reading to annotate my physical copy.  This book has such a different tone than book one. A lot more character development. Both Raahosh and Liz have some big character flaws or trauma they’re working through, which makes their connection a lot more deep. I remember Liz’s personality and wit being a bit distracting, but for some reason on this re-read, while I found her funny, I also saw the vulnerability through her humor.
