Unremarkable. Was really excited when my library hold for the audiobook was up but I can't tell you a single thing that happened. It was advertised to me as dark fantasy but it didn't deliver.

I enjoyed the diversity of the characters and I thought that the author knows how to portray emotions well and captured the relationship between Krona and her Sister engagingly.Unfortunately the other aspects of the book were more mediocre. The writing was a little too descriptive for my taste and it doesn't help that the pacing slows down massively sometimes and crescendos way to hard in the end. It doesn't feel like a build up climax. The world building had potential but quickly loses its focus and establishes mechanics with not enough grip in the world, so that it just feels boring and out of place. A lot of the basic ideas that were introduced in the beginning quickly lose their importance or are just not explored enough for me to care ( ex: the metals) . The mystery was lackluster as well. The build up just didn't match the reveals. I'm unfortunately disappointed

Incredible concept, fairly good execution - I think sometimes the action scenes got away from me but overall this was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
