this was so cute; i loved the baking scenes & hector's character to pieces... ari not so much. however, like many people, ari is a character who can be considered selfish, but at the end of the day is just very sensitive and doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, which is quite relatable. the way he acted with his parents & hector (and his friends) at certain parts bothered me, though. the ending also felt very abrupt? i felt like i was missing quite a bit of context for it and was confused/thought i'd skipped over a part of the story. loved the art style of this and enjoyed it overall!

this gave me major heartstopper vibes and i think that if you enjoyed heartstopper, you would most likely enjoy this. unlike heartstopper, i wouldn’t classify bloom as strictly a romance though. and it won’t make you giggle like heartstopper will, but it is still a sweet tale of love and family.

Saw this recommended by others and I reread this as I was confused whether I'd actually read it.
Very easy to read and consume. The artstyle is gorgeous and colour palette is perfect!

However personally it isn't my cuppa. I did read it when I was not in the mood for the problems, conflicts our characters faced - it felt very real & depressing. On the other hand it was cute and wholesome so I rated it as fair as possible.

Some of the references fly out of my head as I'm unfamiliar about their culture / cultural differences and I did get a bit confused at times because it felt to me that the story seem to skip hours or even days ahead without warning in some places (or maybe I'm just dumb and missed the signs...)

We love a gay YA graphic novel in June! And all year for that matter, but a cute story and a quick pace are perfect for summer. I didn’t always love our MC, but I get that he was going through a difficult growing period and needed to get past that to be a better, nicer, more mature adult. I absolutely adored the love interest! The plot took a surprising turn that was more dramatic than I anticipated, but still had a nice satisfying ending.
