This was so cute, really love this

If it wasn't for Volume 3 already waiting for me at the library, I would've stopped reading the series here. Essentially this felt the exact same as Volume 1, both in character development and situations presented.

We’re given a small amount of additional background into Kanda’s life and trauma, but the ancillary characters – mainly Kobayashi and Moriyama – felt like they were part of a different story. The vast majority of the novel is rehashing when Fukumaru came to live with Kanda and how they are building life together with mutual respect and admiration.

Is it terrible? No. Are their elements that are cute? Absolutely. But was it satisfying? Not much.

Makes me cry, 10/10

Amazing as always, leaves me all warm and fuzzy inside. I'll definitely buy more volumes. That's all that needs to be said.

This is a great continuation of the first volume, in which Mr. Kanda and Fukumaru continue to grow and love one another. Told with humor and tenderness, we see both the human and feline antics that go on between the two as they continue to heal from their respective past traumas. We are also interestingly given a look into our other characters lives and pasts as well, which is great because it helps build the story surrounding our main characters; especially for future volumes to come. Overall it was an exceedingly enjoyable experience and I can't wait to read the next book.

Days with the man continue on. Fukumaru starts to get up to no good, but no matter what, it seems the man is never quite angry or upset in the ways Fukumaru expects. Kanda, on the other hand, starts to remember moments in his past, both happy and sad. Whenever he starts to get emotional, Fukumaru is there to help him out and give him a shoulder to cry on.

Yeah, I cried again. And yeah, it was during the scene with Sato at the start. I just… gosh I think it’s just the fact that someone cares other than just Kanda. Someone remembers Fukumaru, even if they are no longer in his life directly anymore. There’s something so wholesome about that.

This volume addressed what I keep saying. You’re never a cat person until you have a cat. Well, okay that’s not necessarily true, but the people who don’t think they’re cat people just haven’t met the right cat or don’t know the joys of living with a cat. I truly believe people can become cat people if they just open their hearts to cats. I’ve seen it with my own two eyes. People who are indifferent to cats. They get one or two and then weeks later they are completely pulled in.

I didn’t notice any art that made me feel weird at all during this volume, so maybe that was just me or just volume 1. I’m glad. There were just times when I was like, oh Kanda you’re looking a little squished today. I mean, I, of course, still loved him, but I feel like he’s being shaped out better in this volume already.

The only moment in the story that made me kind of scratch my head was the coworkers being weird bit. It was fine, I just felt like it was a bit… odd. That’s all I really have to say.

Gonna pause before I keep going on with the series, but only because I need to get some other things read too. And I don’t want to get worn out on this one, if that’s even possible. Anyways, better just to take a break for a few books. Then I’ll dive back in. Super excited. : )
