A Man and His Cat are back in another volume just as floofy and warm as the first. The two are learning each other's foibles and habits as they continue their everyday lives. And doing do so, the Man comes to engage more with the people around him (even if just to show off pics of his kitteh) and understands why his closest friend is always talking about his pet.

The book could have been enriched with a few cultural notes. At one point, the Man's friend gives his a "challenge note." What does this entail? Why is the Man flailing?

Eagerly awaiting volume 3 from the local library.

'A Man & His Cat' continues to be a sweet story of a widower and a particular cat finding comfort and fun in each other's daily lives. Reading this reliably makes me tear up; it's also about grief and loneliness, and continuing on, and the unconditional love you can share with a pet, and these are all things I'm a sucker for. Plus, it's just really cute how enthusiastic he is about each new thing he discovers with his cat. :)

This series is just refreshingly adorable, loving, and kind. All the good parts that manga has to offer with none of the ills(no contrived fanservice, incest, no panty shots, weird age-gaps, sister complexes, etc) thus far. I mean it's only vol 2 tho, but so far so good. I loved that we're seeing more of the man's backstory. He was adorable as a child but grew up rather isolated due to his upbringing.

If you want to put your heart in a good mood or unwind after a hard day, then this is the manga for you.
