A decent arc spinning out of House of M / into Civil War. I like this better than the Vulcan waking up in Deadly Genesis.

I hated the art but the story was good, nice to see them face a real threat. Maria Hill is kind of a bitch! Also Carol was in it, which is cool.

No idea what Xorn is though so the finale was a bit lost on me!

2016 review:

This wasn't nearly as good as the first three volumes.

I feel like the story here was interesting but since I never read House of M, I feel like I was missing a lot of the context that would have made it cool. I liked seeing Carol Danvers some more though. Also the sentry was a snore fest as always.

Another Pretty Good instalment of the New Avengers, albeit with worse art than usual.

I sort of wish I'd read [b:House of M|105973|House of M (Marvel Comics)|Brian Michael Bendis|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1300213236s/105973.jpg|102154] before this. Somewhere out there, someone must have published a "read the Avengers and Avengers realated comics in this order!" guide.

Bendis’ Avengers run is just fun to read. It has a good character line up and an interesting enough plot. This one is pretty much when The Justice League fought amazo, but if amazo had already absorbed a bunch of powers and didn’t take them as he went.

I’ve said it before but I’ll repeat it, if you like Bendis this will work for you and if you don’t it won’t. It’s fun, not his best work. But it doesn’t have to be for it to be some damn fun.

3 stars.

Maria Hill is the worst.

She messed with Spidey

Don’t mess with Spidey.

Eh, again, not as enjoyable as it was the first time around.

I liked the team work in this one. I also liked the way Tony took charge in this volume. The storyline is interesting. Ultimately, this was just okay.

Civil War is next!

After effects from House of M still linger. Great story.
