Didn't like any of the characters. Wanted to shake most of them and yell "what is wrong with you" because they acted like 10 year olds. Nope, not for me!

Loved this book! This book felt like home. The characters were realistic and described with such love and understanding. I felt as if I became a resident of their small town. Would definitely recommend!
This was engaging and surprising but reading about this character having to look after everyone in her life was exhausting

I loved Standard Deviation a couple of years back and this is Katherine Heiny’s latest novel. Back then I said that I wouldn’t actually want to be friends with the leads in that, but I think I would like to be friends with Jane – although Duncan would be a bit of a trial to have as a boyfriend! This is warm and funny but bittersweet. It’ll make you laugh and make you cry and then you’ll want to tell everyone you know to read it too. I need to buy a copy so I can lend it out.

A sweet story about small town life, tragedy, community, and love in many forms. Heiny's characters are smart, empathetic and generous. They were a pleasure to spend time with as they build their own special little family together.
