Ich hab's wirklich versucht, aber konnte dieses Buch einfach nicht beenden... Es ist nicht zwingend ein schlechtes Buch aber es war gar nichts für mich. Das größte Problem ist, dass es einfach so langweilig war. Es sind zwar an sich interessante Handlungen passiert, aber selbst die haben mich gelangweilt.
Die Charaktere waren bis auf Duncan tatsächlich wirklich interessant und einzigartig und den Schreibstil möchte ich auch sehr gerne.
Die Beziehung zwischen Jane und Duncan kam mir allerdings immer sehr oberflächlich vor und ich hatte nie wirklich das Gefühl, dass sie sich lieben.
Ich hätte wirklich gerne gewusst wie es ausging, aber würde ich versuchen weiterzulesen wäre ich wieder in einer Reading Slump, also nein danke.
Deswegen wären es für mich nur 1.75 ⭐, wenn ich es bewerten würde.

This charming story has my heart. The characters are perfectly flawed and their love for each other, despite their flaws, is heartwarming. Heiny captures the mundane and magical moments of daily life.

Early Morning Riser is a very quiet novel with lots of quirky yet warm-hearted small town vibes. There’s not a lot of plot; we just follow Jane, an elementary school teacher, through seventeen years of her mostly uneventful life. In many ways it reminded me of an Anne Tyler novel. The character of Jimmy definitely tugged at my heartstrings, and I have many thoughts about the way he was treated. I listened on audio and think the quirkiness would have been too much for me in print.
