In a way, this series is the whole reason we started Go! Comi. Short version: I was going to work on a manga project with the artist of Cantarella, Higuri You. Ended up starting a publishing company and bringing over her series instead. I absolutely adore her sultry men.

Got this in a lot of used manga from the flea market and it feels like a really good find; the melodrama! The art! The hyper-fictionalized Renaissance Italy setting!

Hm I really don't want to be mean because the art is great. Even looking at the cover you can see that you are not going to be disappointed with the drawing style. As for the plot, I am not saying its bad or anything but I personally did not like it.

I liked this story of Cesare Borgia. It's got some nice creepieness going on and the whole soap opera vibe too. This was the first GN I ever read. I picked it b/c it looked like it might have more of a story line and not as much violence, but it was pretty much like the other mangas out there. Easy to read, in that it flows quickly. Hard to read b/c it's backwards!! :)

Oh hey, this series starts off pretty well, but I will warn you that there are adult themes (including implied incestuous leanings later on), sordid affairs and obviously, assassination (fun, right?). However, if you're okay with that, it's pretty interesting. Set in mid-Renaissance, the story follows Cesare Borgia (an actual person, but this story is mostly fictitious) and his rise to prominence in Italy during the time period. A little bloody, a little supernatural and a lot of political intrigue.
Also, the art is stunning. So far, three volumes in (for me) and this series has been a real page turner.

It's a manga about Cesare Borgia! For me, a huge fan of Assassin's Creed, that was pretty cool. The plot is intriguing and it all looks lovely. I really enjoyed this, even though it felt a little odd to have Cesare as the main character, especially since you can't help but feel sorry for him at times. Assassin's Creed instilled very different feelings for him in me ;)
