This is a vivid and vicious story of rape and revenge with strange anthropomorphic beings, who I could almost see animated as I read. So, it’s effective but at times the prose-poem style feels a bit cringe-y. It may be unusual for something like this to be published and applauded, but I think there’s plenty of hidden teenage diaries around that would belie its originality.
Daring and original, but clearly this idea was beyond the capabilities of a debut author, and by the end of the narrative it bends so far from the grotesque-real and becomes a kind of fantasy-farce. Maybe I missed the point, but it wasn’t for me
Rubbish
I wouldn't bother reading this. Poorly written, couldn't relate to the characters. Not worth looking at in my opinion. Rubbish

Not really sure what I just read but I couldn’t put it down. A strange, poetic, dreamlike novel following a woman immediately after being sexually assaulted. The bizarre, fantastical elements of the story are ambitious but didn’t completely work. I’m eager to read her next book.
I did not understand this book. As I have stated before, I am not a fan of the "experimental" writing style and I think that is what this was. The book felt like a 112 page run on sentence with a breath taken before plunging back in to the next chapter. For that reason, I gave it an extra star because perhaps someone who didn't figure out on page 2 that they aren't going to like how the story is presented just might like the whole thing a bit more. However, I still did not understand this book. I can't tell if Ms. Glass was aiming for a bunch of symbolism or was being poetic. It was lost on me. The graphic description at the beginning of the book of what is presented as the aftermath of rape was discomforting. And just before the very odd ending, I thought a resolution had been made but instead the story got even stranger. Maybe I am being dense and just didn't get this book but I am not sure how many people I know would get it.

Throughout this I couldn’t stop thinking how much of a bad cheap ripoff of Anna Burns’ Milkman this felt.
It’s not enough to use dizzying prose and shocking images for the sake of it, there has to be something more solid at the root of it. Something is lacking in Peach, some foundation to keep you tethered while you are continually subjected to these gorey hallucinogenic descriptions.
I couldn’t even finish it and it’s less than 100 pages long....
