This man was a stone-cold genius. I'm so glad I picked this up for spooky season. He's going to be a spooky season staple from now on.

Neil Gaiman said that "You know his stories, even if you think you don't." I, for one, realised I knew his stories from The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror episodes and "The Scary Door" in Futurama.
In these stories one of the characters is always paranoid about some sort of supernatural phenomena dogging their steps, sabotaging their lives, haunting them in every way -- and then by the end it transpires these things are ridiculous and entirely real. Totally genius.
My favourite stories were "Blood Son", "Death Ship", "Button, Button", "The Funeral", "Long Distance Call", "The Holiday Man" and "The Duel."

This is a very interesting short story about the three-man crew of a spaceship who, landing on a planet, find a crashed craft. They investigate, only to find their own faces staring back at them (and no, that isn't the spoiler it sounds like).
The story is well written, drawing one in, and each of the characters is well-depicted and different in personality. The ending was not expected, but I've seen better "punch lines" (in this case, several sentences...) than was employed to wrap this story up.
Good classic scifi. I am dubious about the time travel tag though. On the surface it appears to be time travel, but when one scratches it a bit, that notion falls apart.
Merged review:

Not bad, but a few of the stories didn't quite resonate with me on a "Best of" frequency.
