I will never think of Four Trees the same way again. The first battle was a terrible, terrible battle. Who thinks these books are for kids? My gd, I'm in my early 60s, and I was bawling like a baby as I read about the battle.

A little too preachy at the end for my complete liking.
You know, this squeal series is starting to get pretty damn good. Like 1st book was dumb. 2nd half of the 2nd book was promising. But 3rd book was pretty good. It brought me back a couple to what it felt like to read the books when i was little. And there were some amazingly written antagonist in this 3rd book. Im curious what the end will bring for this series.
i swear to god (or starclan??) clouded sky is giving me an aneurysm. how can you wildly swing from one "opinion" to another and back again. really makes sense that skyclan is my least favourite clan ever. i hope clouded sky dies soon and ends my misery

I loved listening to this during long car drives because I could gasp in shock at these audacious cats to stay awake.

This book was just stock full of gratuitous violence. The amount of death that occurred, and how poorly written the fight scenes were, you almost couldn’t feel bad that these characters – most if not all who were fleshed out well – died. While all those characters will be missed, it was disappointing to have them end in such a way. Although, the mass grave that was dug does give some great meaning and lore behind the rest of the series. Other than the battle deaths, this book was everything I enjoy about this series. The characters are beautifully written and rounded, but I really don’t like Clear Sky though… even if he is “reformed.”
