this book had the opportunity to be so so good. the concept of two serial killers in love who work in forensics is so cool to me but it fell flat i’m really sad
I love the idea of a dark romance where rival serial killers fight over a territory but the writing and plot of Marrow left me unsatisfied. I can absolutely believe our two MCs fell for each other with the amount of tension and banter in the beginning, but, as soon as they act on their chemistry, their undying love is so instant. For a serial killer who supposedly feels nothing, the MMC sure was infatuated right away. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading Butcher and Blackbird, but I wanted some contrast in the story; something light or exciting to balance out the dark. I also think it was weird how there was a serious imbalance to the characters and how fleshed out they were, the FMC got a complete backstory and her personality was showcased, but the MMC was bland and we barely get anything on his history. I just feel like Marrow didn't deliver what it could have, I found the whole book boring and slow.

I do love badass female characters and I love female serial killer characters because I truly support women’s rights and wrongs.
Kyrie is badass, complicated, emotional and ruthless. All great qualities I’d say. She is a character that I really loved and I support her fully. I love her and her dog Cornetto. How fucking cute is she.
Jack. Jack. Jack. With his wicked tongue and use of Danish. “Lille mejer” “Min elskede” oh be still my heart. His obsession with Kyrie had me hooked. How he loved her in his own way because he is still a psychopath.
Their journey together was a lovely one to read about and I’m finding this so funny writing this about two serial killers? But I love them!
I loved this book and the writing was really good and flowed really well. I think Wolfe and Weaver work really well together and I will be looking to read more books from Wolfe because of this.
