This wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t bad. The pacing was off for me, I felt the beginning was very slow but I enjoyed the story once it took off. Didn’t have the banter that I love with a Brynne Weaver book but it was angsty enough to get the job done.

I seem to have found my way to the smutty serial killer side of books. No regerts.
While not my favorite Brynne Weaver book by a long shot, I still enjoyed the ride.
While not my favorite Brynne Weaver book by a long shot, I still enjoyed the ride.
While Ms. Weaver is a new to me author, I’m a big fan of Ms. Wolfe.
Her books are unconventional, unique and so very unpredictable.
There are edgy, raw and gritty.
So double the authors double the gripping read I say.
Same goes for dark serial killer reads. Two is better than one!
And this is what we have with Kyrie and Jack.
Dr. Kyrie Roth and Dr. Jack Sorensen work with each other in forensic research at West Paine University.
Their disdain for each other knows no bounds. But there is also something brewing underneath all that. And the tension between them is thick and strong. But so is their chemistry!
Their relationship evolves from disdain to all-consuming. Both in a good way and a bad way.
I’ve never meant a “heroine” quite like Kyrie. She’s beautiful and insanely smart.
Capable and talented. But oh my goodness the darkness that lurks within her is scary.
She’s an absolute conundrum and anomaly in sheep’s clothing.
Jack is also darkness personified. But his education and sexy outer appearance masks his darker tendencies. So you never see him coming because you’re too busy drooling.
The tension with these two is as high a a skyscraper. Their chemistry intense.
And their intimate scenes are perfect and exactly what I would expect of these two unhinged killers.
The book is beautifully written.
The banter between Kyrie and Jack at times leaned to the poetic side. Yes even cold blooded murders can have poetic moments.
Everything flowed smoothly and brilliantly. It was seamless and no interruptions in the writing.
Absolutely no way to tell that two different people wrote it. Without seeing the names on the cover.
You know how very genius and talented the authors are when they make you fall in love with morally corrupt and compromised characters.
So hats off to these outstanding authors!
