"Jeg vil være alt for dig, elskede" ~ Jack Sorenson

The absolute chokehold this book has me in. I finished it a couple of days ago and it's taken me until now to put words to how I feel.

First, the trauma representation in this book is spot on. The soul crushing anxiety in reliving a traumatic event. The random triggers. It's very validating.

Second, the Danish phrases Jack uses is hot af. 🥵

The spice is on par with B&B, though the k!nks are slightly different. Sømnø, bløødpl@y, age gap, dark academia, and st@lk!ng to name a few. Maybe you'll question yourself when you finish.

The story between two serial killers in the same territory is unique (it IS different from Butcher and Blackbird!) and tense. The technical research that went into the book is awesome and surprisingly informative. If you liked Butcher and Blackbird but want something a little darker without going full dark side, this is what you're looking for.

I spent the first 30% of this book highly confused and then spent the next 70% as someone who questioned the main characters and their questionnaire kinks, and thinking that they were actually kinda sweet together (I’m their own murderous ways).
But the writing of this book? Absolutely brilliant.

Love love loved this. Another book finished in 24 hours. Spice was perfect and banter was hilarious.

GOD this book was so good.

Let it be said I am NOT regularly a dark romance reader but this just hooked me. The premise of two serial killers going enemies-to-lovers was just SO good I couldn't help myself from picking it up. I am so glad I did, let me tell you. If I hadn't started this so late at night I definitely would've read it all in one sitting. Any hesitation I had about it being dark romance was blown away within the very first chapter.

The tension in this book is so enticing; the cat and mouse was so good it almost surprised me when they did, in fact, kiss. I just thought the chase would go on forever and I'd be perfectly fine with that.

As much as I hate using the term, Jack Sorensen is the DEFINITION of a book boyfriend. Book husband, actually, since he's in his 30s. The way he talked to her once he started figuring out his feelings and the dutch pet names? Lille mejer?? I lost my MIND when I looked up what it meant.

This book did a fantastic job of toeing the edge of too-much but also being settled comfortably in that area. It gave me everything I wanted perfectly.
