OMG, I heart this book so hard. I had been in a bit of a reading slump and this book picked me up instantly. I literally could not put it down. I could not read this book fast enough. The bits of steamy romance happened later in the story. For which I was glad as the authors striked a really good balance of romance with the main storyline. In fact, this book made me think of another one of my favorite series featuring a female serial killer by the name of Gretchen. She had a relationship with the detective investigating her, Archie. They shared a twisted love relationship. The series is Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. This book also gave me "You" vibes from Caroline Kepnes books.

Kyrie and Jack were evenly matched in wits. Thus, the reason I enjoyed seeing them in action. I never knew what they were going to do next to try to up the ante. I will definitely be checking out these authors other books. This passage from the book is fitting: "Creatures designed like us were not meant to bask in the light for long. Where we lurk, the darkness always finds us."

This was like 4.5 stars for me but I rounded up - this was a ton of fun, great character development, loved the setting and premise a lot. Felt like Dexter meets Bones and it was a wild time that I enjoyed a bunch.
