Once again, with Stephen King, the story beneath the horror is what really grips me. Yes, it's an awesome alien thriller, but it's also the beautiful story of a group of boys who remain friends from middle school to midlife. Each with their own flaws and self-loathing, together they are good and capable of being the best of us.
