He has a very clear writing style and it's interesting to hear the connections he makes between running and writing.

After racing through Born to Run practically feeling the wind in my hair, Murakami’s meandering ruminations on his running practice, writing practice, health, and his own personality didn’t do too much for me. His fatphobia was painful to read as well. If you’re a writer and an established long distance runner or just a serious Murakami fan who’s already read everything else he’s written, this book would be for you.

I hear Murakami’s novels are great, and I may try one, but this memoir was awful. It felt arrogant, self-centered, and in general like it really said nothing at all. As someone who has completed 30 marathons, 50-plus half marathons and two ultras, I was shocked to realize as I ready that the author would consider me a fraud because yea, I walk. I ran when I was younger but wasn’t fast. News flash: Not everyone runs a 3:30 marathon, and that’s OK.

I just really loved it, like it isnt a profound book but a really pleasant read. I felt like I was reading his mind surrounding some of this esteemed author's life. I dont think it would be for anyone like if you want something with a load of excitement but I loved it regardless. Hard to word why i loved it so much!
