First of all, I thought I wanted to give this book fewer stars, but that I know is because I found Anna to be insufferable. I need to look up to see if this was in part because Finn wanted her to be, or if that’s simply my own interpretation.

That being said, I enjoyed the mind games of it all. Sometimes I was finding my self guiltily thinking that Anna deserved it all (and kind of still do).

Moral of the story? MIND YOUR BUSINESS.

Really nice thriller but a bit longer than it needed to be. Overall it was enjoyable and it kept me hooked enough to read it in less than 2 days!

wouldn’t read again, somewhat predictable also realizing this was written by a man so makes sense why i didn’t enjoy it that much, closer to like a 2.75

The moment I read "my dress was smeared across the floor like a skid mark" I knew any chance of me liking this book was over. I think I struggled with this book mostly because I watched netflix show that's a spoof of it a few years back and it just meant I couldn't take it seriously. And I just don't think it was a good book lol

I was going back and forth about reading this or not because of the controversy surrounding this author, but ultimately the fomo won out. I am relieved to say this book isn't going to be a new favorite for me.

I was hooked and intrigued in the beginning and the reveals were good. However, I really don't like mystery thrillers that rely on the main character (almost always a woman) being unreliable due to mental illness or substance abuse and this book combined both of those. Too many books rely on this 'trope' and it feels like lazy writing.

I can't see anything in this setting it apart in my memory from other average mystery thrillers I've read. I definitely do not understand the hype.

This one wasn't my cup of tea. I don't usually enjoy unreliable narrators. Not only is Anne unreliable, she's also exceedingly unlikable. I know it's on purpose, but I really didn't like her. The book was well written, the characters well developed, but the plot devices and character types etc weren't well aligned with my tastes.

This was a fantastic novel, and had me constantly guessing! There were some twists that I did not see coming! Although I do have to say it was slow in the beginning, but please just push through it, and finish the book you won't regret it! (At least I hope not.)

A good beach read, but a bit too formulaic.
