4.5 stars and definitely one of my favourite reads this year

”Easton may not have been my Prince Charming, but he was everything I needed.”

This was my second book by Holly Renee and I’m absolutely in love with it. I hadn’t have this love-triangle angst level since Suddenly Forbidden by Ella Fields.
My heart was constantly at war with whom Maddison should end up with in the end. The author did a fantastic job showing Maddison’s feelings for Theo and Easton and fighting her emotions, finding the way to her one true love.
And even though my heart was torn, deep down it always knew who to choose.

”I was in love with two different men. And I could only have one.”

Easton Cole made a great entrance at my hearts door with no intention to leave. He’s almost too good to be true. Easton is one of the most swoonworthy bookboyfriends ever.
And I loved how Maddison developed through her story. It’s like Easton made her see clearly for the first time in a very long time and she finally grew some backbone to go for what she really wanted.

However, I don’t think my poor heart could have handled any more drama, I think this book was cut short and some parts could have been worth to explore a little deeper. Let them mature a little more.

”I knew without a doubt that I may not have been the guy Maddison had always dreamed about, but I would always be everthing she needed.”

The Wrong Prince Charming is an angsty and entertaining love triangle that will stop your heart and restart it at the same time.

I absolutely loved Easton! He was so awesome, and made this story for me! I loved him with and for Maddie. This one would have been a 5 star read for me, but I felt like the threesome didn't fit the story at all and didn't seem to fit the characters for me. I also felt like after the BS that Theo pulled that Maddie forgave him too easily and that he didn't deserve to have it just go away like it did. Otherwise though I really loved this one.

I was about to give it 5 stars if it weren't for that menage a trois. I mean, was that really necessary?! I like the story's buildup at first, however I think the conclusion was quite rushed. I expected more from Easton because he was really a darling in the beginning, but as the story progressed, his voice wasn't heard that much because the Heroine was too busy thinking too much about hot guys, their abs, and sex as if the book was supposed to be an erotica. Maddison is one of those Heroines that you'll never understand if she really likes the guy or she's just into it for the sex. I love LOVE TRIANGLES so much and instant love doesn't bother me at all, unfortunately this one lacks substance for me.

My first thought when I read the blurb was, is this going to be menage? A love triangle? Well, I'm not gonna answer because I want you to find out for yourself the beauty, angst, and drama of this book.

The Wrong Prince Charming hooked me with its blurb and my, that cover. The book lived up to my expectations. The development of Maddy and Easton's relationship was realistic. It has the delicious forbidden element that I've been gobbling up lately. And let's not forget the hot, hunky bestfriend, Theo. His relationship with Maddy is frustrating AF coz dude, friend zone! Since it is told on Maddy's POV only, we only have her reason for not crossing the line of friendship. Best friends since their childhood days, so I get that Maddy is a bit hesitant and the fear that she might lose his friendship should they take things far.

I love Easton's character because he gave Maddy the inspiration to pursue her dreams. While Theo is a wonderful best friend to her but has his own reasons and plans that involves a future with Maddy. For real, I wouldn't want to be in Maddy's position. Again. I've been in this almost the same situation and it really sucks. It is hard to feel something to your bestfriend and not act on it, and then fall for another guy at the same time. Who would you choose? Should you wait for the bestfriend to love you back or go ahead and be happy with another guy you're falling already?

As my first ever read from this author, I've enjoyed reading The Wrong Prince Charming and it is aptly titled. I'm pretty sure some of us, myself included, would be able to relate in a way to this story. It is something that is inevitable, a part of life, and the reason I've connected with this book. Loved it and I will look forward to reading another work from this author.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars

I couldn’t decided whether to rate this 3 or 4 stars. It had all the elements for a great, angsty college romance but it was far too short. I didn’t connect with any of the characters or feel any of the relationship building. I decided on 4 stars because it had 2 incredibly hot scenes, and I’m a sucker for steamy scenes. Other than that, I was pretty disappointed with how quickly and easily the drama was wrapped up.

Ughhh I really hate love triangles.

I love Holly Renee. One of my favorites. So I went into this one kind of blind which I rarely ever do. Had I known it was a love triangle I wouldn’t have read it. There is just nothing romantic to me when someone is in love with two people.

Luckily in this one, I hated both potential guys so I didn’t have that internal struggle I normally do. It was also a short quick book so I didn’t have to hate-read this for too long.

Both guys sucked and there was very little romance between any of the potential pairings. I normally love that Holly’s books are on the shorter side so there isn’t a ton of unnecessary filler but this one could have benefited from more. The endgame love story wasn’t fleshed out enough that I just didn’t care about it at all.

Also….what was with that random threesome? Seemed so out of place and out of character. Really turned me off from buying into that love story.

Amazing!

That Prince though. What a guy, what a dilemma for Maddison, what a choice to make.
Just enough angst, just the right amount of turmoil. This book is definitely a winner.
