I won’t lie, this book had a slow start and the first 100 pages I was wondering if this would be a disappointment. I’m glad to say that I really got into it after that. There were so many times I laughed out loud as well as times I nearly cried. I love reading about women empowering women and stories like this need to be told. Because even though this is set in the 60’s, people today still need to hear how fierce and capable women are.

LOOK AT TRIGGER WARNINGS!

Elizabeth Zott is the epitome of a femenist, a woman, a scientist, a mother, and an icon. bThis book depicts how women are treated less in every sense of the word when it comes to so many situations. The book is fantastically written. The emotions this book has drawn from me... I truly reccomend this book, although, and again, do look at trigger warnings.

4.5

This book was really well written and the story was amazing but to be honest... it was a lot. This book is for some reason is marketed as a romance (a fact that the author disagrees with) and it is definitely not, so I did not go into expecting something quite as heavy.  There is plenty of humor as well, but the overall topics and themes are very heavy.  My main reason for deducting to a 4.5 rating is that I think this book should have had trigger warnings in the front. I didn't look them up because of how this book was marketed and I really wish I had known.

This is a story about misinformation, missed connections, and misogyny. It’s also a story about being yourself, following your dreams, and challenging the status quo. It’s about science and religion and life.

It’s absolutely worth your time.
