I've Always Loved Nicholas Sparks

It's been a few years since I've read a Nicholas Sparks novel. I had moved on to mystery and thriller novels. I've had The Longest Ride sitting in my library for a few years and decided I needed another change of pace. While I don't think this is one of his best books, it was still a pleasure to read.

Actual rating: 4.5 Stars
This was actually my first time reading a Nicholas Sparks book, and it won't be my last. In the beginning it was irritating to me that Luke and Sophia story stopped so Ira's story could be told. But somewhere around the middle of the book I got over it because their story was just so perfect, in made me cry because it was so heartbreakingly beautiful. So much so that with just one encounter it changes something within both Luke and Sophia. Luke and Sophia are so odd for each other and it really surprises me that they end up together. But sometimes you need your opposite to complete you. And if it's really meant to be, it just works out in the end.
P.S. Watch the movie after reading the book. Not before like I did because it totally ruined the ending for me :(

Oh man I love this book!! The romance it top quality and so consuming. Picked up this book and literally could not put it down!

I wanted to read the book because I liked the movie (Britt Robertson I luv her) but ohhhh my goodness the cheese. A typical straight people romance but that's alright. Not bad but not amazing either.

Two love stories in one awesome book! The longest ride is Nicholas Sparks newest book for those of you who don’t know. I really enjoyed reading this book, maybe because i’m from Texas and the fact that the main character was a handsome cowboy made me go CRAZY! The book chapters are divided by characters which I really like books that do that because it really allows you to get to know the characters better. For this book however, I found myself getting distracted really fast reading the “Ira” parts (one of the main characters) I think I skipped about 3 or 4 whole “Ira” chapters and I was not for one second lost after skipping them. Was I disappointed? My answer would be maybe a little. Every time I pick up a Nicholas Sparks book im expecting a full on love-rush which I did not get from this book. It’s a very nice story and I have to admit a bit different from all the other books he has but “Safe Haven” is still number one in my heart.

This is absolute hands down one of my favorite books of all time. I normally do not like Nicholas Sparks and all the romance/ romantic novels, but the Longest Ride had me for every twist and turn from the very beginning to the very end. I would read this book over and over again.

Pretty good story line. A bit predictable

Cute book. Very cheesy but that is to be expected with Nicholas Sparks. I'm such a sucker
