Reading as an adult, I saw so much more than reading it as a child. The religious symbolism and allegory was prominent and made one really read between the lines. Written with thought-provoking detail, I found this a fascinating read that I got through in one sitting.

Well, the good thing is that 9 year old me never knew the dark and true ending of Narnia.

This beautiful all-in-one book right here was probably the first spark of reading for me. Not only was I an avid book hater but I had hardly ever finished anything other than Carrie the previous school year. I argued with my English teacher to let me write my senior paper on books one through three of this series and aced it. I still have my copy of this book and I think I still have that paper somewhere too. C.S. Lewis wrote a beautiful world with wonderful characters, although I do think it gets a little weird at the end.
