Memoir of a nineteen year old Yazidi girl who was captured by ISIS and sold as a slave.

Although the writing was not particularly flowing, the incident was horrific and gave me goosebumps as I read on.

A powerful and unsettling book that tells the horrific story of a young 19 year old woman when her town is captured by ISIS and she is sold into slavery. Not an enjoyable read (due to the content) but an important read.
dark emotional sad medium-paced

my heart is shattered, even if the book is not written in an incredibly explicit language, it still has the power to make my stomach turn and ignite emotions in me. i wish i could think of this book as fiction

A true but difficult read especially since we are facing problems with our borders here in the U.S.
