Whoa. I read this in one sitting. I am shocked and also incredibly impressed by Farida. It’s unbelievable that this young woman actually managed to escape ISIS, after a terrible capture and imprisonment. Really moving story.
Excellent read, but such a terribly sad story! Couldn’t put the book down after I started, but definitely emotionally draining!

This memoir really educated me in this heavy, difficult subject. Not many ISIS victims are ready to, or able, to discus the tragic events that happened to them. It's so important to have firsthand accounts; memoirs like these are what build history. If you want to know what is really happening in the world, and if you can handle reading some raw, triggering events, this book may be for you. I think a lot of people need to read this book.
