Years ago Addison Davenport  and Daxton "Dax" Mercier had a fling.   They both have moved on in their life, both have suffered losses and both are currently single.   Dax reaches out to Addison for a consult, but when she arrives she is more than surprised that he remembered the Pact she proposed years ago.  If both of them are still single when she hits her 30's they wed.   Dax is completely serious with his proposal and while it wont be a marriage of love it will be  a marriage in every other way.  Will Addison accept and will they succeed in their marriage?

Absolutely wonderful.  Addison is Dane and Vienna's daughter from The Favor, while Dax is Blake and Kinsey's from Shiver so I was hooked from the get go.   Dax and Addison are phenomenal, I wanted more of this couple but was happy regardless.   I hope there are more books coming because there are some phenomenal characters.   High praise.

Spoilerand drive home that it likes to streal items and "ravage" whatever "gifts" it brings into the house
. And apparently no one else involved in this book saw an issue.

"So I'm going to tell you here and now-there is not one thing more important to me than you. You're everything. All I need in one little packai. I love you, Addison Mercier. That will not ever change. Not even for a single second. Never forget it."

I was so excited to read this book because I absolutely loved reading "The Favor" and since Addison is Dane & Vienna's daughter, I was so eager to see them again! I loved Addison & Dax as a couple, they were really good together! But I really started to enjoy their relationship after some 50% mark because up until then, Dax was a little closed off and I loved when his care and concern for Addie came out. The drama was ott but still I did not feel annoyed by that because it only made Addie & Dax's relationship stronger and helped them open up and trust each other. I totally loved Addie, she was just so understanding, caring and protective. It took me some time to like Dax but I eventually got there. Overall, I liked the book as much as I liked The Favor and despite being filled with drama, I wasn't once bored. I liked some side characters and I don't know if Raven & Rafael are getting a book (or already have one) but I want to read their story so bad because the few crumbs I got in this book were enough to captivate me!

Next Generation from Author's previous work (Shiver/The Favor)

The plot of this story revolves around Addison Davenport, a woman whose life plans have been repeatedly disrupted by various challenges and setbacks. She begins to question whether her dream of marriage and having a family is still possible, especially since her college boyfriend passed away. Enter Daxton Dax Mercier, a successful business powerhouse who has also experienced a significant loss in his life. Dax and Addison had made a fallback marriage pact years ago, and when he proposes that they honor it, Addison hesitates but doesn't immediately reject the idea. They consider the possibility of a marriage that's more of a business arrangement than a love match.

I absolutely loved this book! As a fan of the original generation characters of the author's other work, this book was absolutely a great addition to her catalogue.
The main couple has chemistry on top of chemistry between them and the scenes are well written and steamy af! There's a sense of nostalgia with them and an easy going nature that is a pleasure to read bloom into a loving relationship. I loved that the characters had a honesty between them that was so strong and pure.
The side characters were extremely enjoyable and balanced out the story well, it even made me interested in reading solo stories about them if written.
The tropes in the plot were used very well, I liked the pacing of the story. The plot can feel a bit convoluted at times with so many characters but it all evens itself out. Overall, a new favorite of mine!
