Maybe things have gotten lost in translation, but I just felt the stories were boring, poorly written, trying to be so abstract as to be incomprehensible at times.
Absolument magnifique et fascinant. Sensuel, étrange, onirique, prophétique? Je relirai volontiers.

Je ne m’attendais pas à un univers fantastique/science-fiction quasi-horreur.
Plusieurs changements de narrateurs, mais malgré tout on embarque à pieds joints dans ces petits chapitres étranges.
L’histoire est déstabilisante et pour les animaux “lovers” comme moi, très dégoûtante.
C’est captivant, mais vraiment loin de ma zone de confort.

What an odd little book. Enjoyable, but so unsettling. Eerie.
I'm in awe with the "universe" the author created. Its magic and mysteries. It was so vivid and the setting was its own character in the center of it all. I loved the crossovers between the stories... But there was so many disgusting details. Repulsive descriptions and negative foreshadowings. I disliked how this book made me feel. Uncomfortable and pessimistic and confuse... But, must come back once again to being in awe by the completely uniqueness of it...
I'm still confused. Leaving this at a 4. Could change either way.

There are some good things about this collection, but overall it’s not super enjoyable or readable. The horror elements are good, but the rest is a bit of a drag

At first, I thought this was a novella, and then I thought it was short stories. turns out it's short stories that are all connected.
Overall, this just wasn't for me. even though it had some cool ideas throughout, it was just a little too dense, ambiguous, and confusing for my personal taste.
