I am a bit conflicted with this book because I didn't love it and I didn't hate it, I just enjoyed the book for the time being. What I will say that I loved about this book was all of the descriptive writing! I felt fully immersed in the book in every scene and I absolutely loved the setting of the book. The characters were fun and interesting and I enjoyed following them throughout the story. I think the part I started to lose interest in the story was about a little more than halfway through the book. At this point I just felt random things were happening and there was little to no explanation behind it. I also think some things were brought up and were just never brought up again or went over far too fast for me. Overall I enjoyed the read but I am not sure I will continue the series, I'm not as invested as I thought.

When I first saw this book, it wasn’t one I immediately gravitated towards. I really only read it because it was a Fairyloot book that I received this month.

I’m really happy I decided to read it because what a fun journey. Balls, gowns, mystery, murder and romance. A recipe for success.

I do not wish to speak more of the plot because I think it will be fun to discover for yourself how Signa solves the mystery. Some may say it’s predictable, but really it was a great YA fantasy read. It’s less world building and more character driven.

I only wish there was more tension between Signa and the love interest(s).
