This book was outrageously fun. It was witty and charming and it didn’t take itself too seriously. While I appreciated the emotional turmoil that both Luc and Oliver had to work through in order to appreciate how much they needed each other, the story, on the whole, was such a riot. The dung beetle jokes and the hilarious cast of side characters really made this a solid first read of 2021 for me. I don’t know that this book warrants comparison to RWRB because they’re different in many ways, but it is enjoyable and stands on its own as a worthy contemporary m/m romance. I’d recommend to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy and, frankly, who loves to read gay shit (I definitely do).

Really enjoyable read though im mad at the ending

Very charming :) 4.5

es que ^$^#€$(#((#$_&÷ es hermoso, y a pesar de que no esperaba esto, la relación entre luc y oliver es muy realista, no es el típico cliché donde no hay problemas así que estoy feliz, amén

This scratched my “I need a cute romcom book that doesn’t make my brain think immediately” itch beautifully (and it has a sequel which we love to see!)

Also the SoA shout-out was a magnificent touch

4/5

I can’t put to words how much i have enjoyed this book. I’m mind blowed. At first Luc is this crazy fucked up dude but i love that he is self aware of how fucked up he is. And the way he and Oliver are together had me dead. I love this book so much i can’t!!! I could write a whole essay about how good this was but i won’t even bother I’m just going to enjoy it.
Also i need book 2 now!

Second read:
Ufff, this one is a good one. Lucien is one of the most well developed characters i’ve read in a long time. The dude is messed up but it goes deeper than that. The characters does an awesome job at portraying what it feels like to be doing all the wrong things, acknowledging why you’re doing it but being so utterly fucked that u don’t have any idea how to stop. And the character development extends to the love interest. When we get to Oliver he’s shown as this perfect love interest, way to good to be true type of dude. Eventually we get to see all the flaws behind that mask and get to love him even more than we did before. Every side character had such personality that i genuinely loved every single one. You know its good when the friend group is big and u remember all the names but do wish Luc went to them other times than when he was trouble…Anywayyyyy i don’t want to go too deep because the book its actually very light hearted at times but when it wasn’t it really got to my feels.

ps: Daddy issues gang this is where the heat is at
hahahahaah.

Very fun and even funnier

my third reread of this book - 4.5 stars
loved all of the characters in here and their banter keeps me going
defo some unnecessary pop culture references that were slightly off putting
amazing romance and character growth was truly inspiring
upon my apparently fourth reread of this book i understand why i’m so drawn to it because it’s so cozy and they’re so imperfect and perfect and brilliant
