Best one in the triology. The plot and the twists (even though there were hints for some) were so good.

I started rooting for Mal in the start and that put me in a dilemma. Mal couldn't be with Alina until she loses her powers and I didn't know how that could happen without destroying her brain.
The ending was perfect.
Darkling's death was done in the perfect way.

Thank the Saints (🤭) Alina didn't end up with Nikolai. And thank the Saints he didn't die. I liked his character but there was literally no romantic connect between those two.

not as bad as book two.

A great conclusion. This book has a really nice balance of plot and character development.

The way this story started off wasn’t my favorite but I liked seeing the growing bond and relationships between the characters of Alina’s alliance. It was complicated and heartfelt.

Then, once the plot and action kicked in, I was hooked. There were betrayals, twists, and reveals that had me completely immersed. The stakes were so high and several moments broke my heart.

In the end, the story came full circle in such a satisfying way. There were high and low moments throughout but overall I enjoyed this series!

This was my favorite book of the series! The overall ending & wrap-up was satisfying & not entirely predictable, so I'm happy that I stuck it out. I still didn't really like the main character & there were a few plot points & pacing issues, but it was a quick read & I found myself wanting to know what happens.

In Ruin and Rising, weakened and in hiding after a devastating battle, Alina must gather the remnants of her followers and locate the last amplifier to challenge the Darkling once and for all. As betrayals and sacrifices mount, she faces an impossible choice between power, love, and the fate of Ravka. In a final confrontation, Alina’s ultimate decision reshapes the future of magic and the country forever.
