Once again, a very enjoyable romance with great dialogue. Very entertaining to follow this family.
this book was a SLOW BURN. but it was very very good, I ate that ish up!! its my favorite of the bridgerton prequels so far and ranks up with the viscount who loved me (and that’s saying a lot)
Fun, cute, and completely unbelievable.
Loved almost every minute.

This one was SO MUCH BETTER than the last one, the flirting was
Julia Quinns' latest addition in the Rokesby's series takes to the high seas, where Poppy Bridgerton find that her inquisitive nature is contained to the stateroom on the "Infinity", one occupied by the illustrious Captain James. My apologies if that sounds salacious because it most certainly is not. After all Poppy is a part of an aristocratic family and would simply be ruined if found. There's also that pesky omen about a woman being aboard a ship. So Poppy's adventuresome spirit on dry land lands her in the company of pirates and under the reluctant Andrew Rokesbys' protection.
Following a memorable introduction wherein
Andrew sets out to keep her presence aboard the ship a secret and thus Andrew and Poppy spend weeks alone and at odds with each other, and almost always with a unrivaled, playful banter.
It's utterly delightful to see these two get to know each other. There's is a true slow burn romance, one that neither of them can deny. As the adventure comes to a close and everything about Andrews's "secret mission" comes to dangerous conclusion they face the inevitable separation. Their relationship is a happy accident that once again leads to the joining of two noble families. There's a lot of action on both land and sea and if your reading the series or new to it, this is a definite must read.

"Andrew pushed open the door.
And found a woman lying on his bed, bound, gagged, and looking as if she’d shoot flames from her eyes were it anatomically possible.
Andrew stared at her for a full second, idly taking in her thick chestnut hair and greenish-brown eyes. He let his gaze wander down to the rest of her—she was a woman, after all—and smiled.
“A present?” he murmured. “For me?”

The Bridgerton series is adorable and light. Don't read into, don't analyze it. Just enjoy the story.
