This was CERTAINLY my favorite of the first three! The banter was really quite delightful. I think Poppy was a little too hopeful she could salvage the situation with any good result even with her letter though. Im very partial to pirate ship stories, which has possibly skewed my perception but overall this was the most intersting and adventurous. Julia Quinn touched on spies and working for king and country in the previous two books, but in a very bland way. This leaned all the way in making it wholly unique compared to the rest. The full commitment into this kind of plot was well done. I really appreciated how different this felt compared to some of the more formulaic work shes had.
Fun, lots of bickering. A longer review will be written soon.

I read a lot of romance novels, and it’s not often that the plot of one surprises me! This book took a turn I did not see coming, which was fun. I guess it made up for the cringeworthy kidnapping part at the beginning… And the ending was perfectly emotional.

It's a regency romance mixed with pirates. What's not to like?
Forced proximity romance not my thing. Also the book starts off REAL STRONG with a trasphobic book. Not very cool.
