Very interesting premise. A bit slow after the outset, took interesting twist in the middle and got predictable towards the end as do most books in the series. Overall enjoyable read.

I liked Poppy, but the story was blah.

I just didn't really enjoy it. I had a hard time getting into a romance based on kidnapping, and it just didn't feel the same as the other novels in the series. It felt kind of stale and the characters' motivations didn't make much sense to me. I only really got into the last 100 pages or so, mostly with the descriptions of Portugal. I really wish I liked it as much as the others.

So fun! I loved this Pre-Bridgerton series and would love more of them! I read them out of sequence, but it was fine.

This series has been so boring, and I’m pretty sure I actually tried reading this exact book a few years ago. Complete lack of interest in picking this back up means it’s better to DNF.

Julia Quinn delivers again. Sweetly romantic, utter gentlemen, and ladies up to trouble. I love it.

If Stockholm syndrome was romantic? Seriously it is a bizarre beginning but it was fun and sweet and then some action and more adventure were thrown in. The ending was almost a tearjerker in a happy way.
