Pretty good. I'm slightly biased against villain stories, so there's that.
Even Hand by Jim Butcher was good.
I liked Nigsu Ga Tesgu by Jeff Somers
Sixty-six Seconds by Craig Schaefer was good.
The Resurrectionist by Caitlin Kittredge was the first one where I'd be interested in reading their series.
I didn't bother with Down Where the Darkness Dwells, Chase the Fire, Reel Life, or The Difference Between Deceit and Delusion.
I skipped Make it Snappy because it's in the Jane Yellowrock series, and I want to read that.
I didn't bother with Bellum Romanum, because it's from the Kitty Norville series, and I'm done with that series.
I liked Altar Boy by Jonathan Maberry a lot.
I liked Unexpected Choices by Diana Pharaoh Francis a lot, and will see about getting a book from that series.
I really enjoyed Balance by Seanen McGuire, I like the InCryptid series.
I listened to Everywhere, and it was ok.

Pretty mixed bag, took a while to get through b/c some of the stories didn't really interest me. Overall I enjoyed it more than the previous collection, Urban Allies.

Borrowed for Seanan McGuire story. Do not necessarily recommend.

With any anthology of this type there are bound to be stories you love and stories you don't. I think over all this landed in the middle for me. It wasn't an overwhelming "YAY!" from everyone or a over all "Boo!" I was reminded of a few authors I have meant to read more from and reminded why I didn't care for others. Reading is like that sometimes.

A fantastic anthology that offers an alternative point of view; the antagonist, the dark side, the people who do go bump in the night. As with any great story, those characters aren't as black and white as they seem and these glimpses into their world and their psyches are absolutely wonderful. As a fan of the Dresden Files, Cainsville and Iron Druid chronicles I adored those stories, but the rest of the anthology, for the most part, (there's always at least one or two stories that never quite resonate with me in an anthology) was absolutely brilliant too. Highly recommended.

I thought a few times about reading the series' that each author writes, but then I remembered that villain stories are ALWAYS better!

Like several others have said, there were just too many negative stories. I couldn't really get into the characters from the established series. Even the ones I knew (Dresden and Iron Druid) were 'meh'. Ultimately I gave up on the book.

The only villain I knew was from Jim Butcher. The rest I had no frame of reference for.

Maybe I’ll look up the rest of the authors and get back to this.

Creepy as always when dealing with the cuckoos.

Short

I picked this up for the Jim Butcher short story.

Writing some notes to myself so if I read an author & hate them, I'll wonder why I picked up the book in the first place :D

"Even Hand" by Jim Butcher
Here we get a short story from the Chicago's organized crime boss, John Marcone. He has inserted himself into the supernatural power structure & doesn't like it when the vampire courts try to manipulate him. A solid short story.

"Hounded" by Kelley Armstrong
Interesting look at what I assume is one of the villains of a series. Will give one of her books a try.

"Nigsu Ga Tesgu" by Jeff Somers
Solid story, would love to read more

"Sixty-Six Seconds" by Craig Schaefer
Meh, seemed ok of a story, just didn't click w/ me. Skip

"Kiss" by Lilith Saintcrow
About a demon who deals in favors to humans...even those who would hunt him. A bit intriguing. Will look into her books.

"The Naughtiest Cherub" by Kevin Hearne
I've read several of the Iron Druid series & got tired of them....just couldn't keep track of all the plots or which books to read in which order. Because all the little short stories are important. I'll read his stuff if I stumble over it like I did here, but I'm not continuing w/ the series.

"The Resurrectionist" by Caitlin Kittredge
Nice little demon story, but again, didn't really click w/ me. Skip

"Down Where the Darkness Dwells" by Joseph Nassise
The story was interesting, but the writing wasn't all that. Skip

"Bellum Romanum" by Carrie Vaughn
Vampire story that was ok, but I've got a long enough reading list. Skip

"Altar Boy" by Jonathan Maberry
Seems like it would be an awesome story for those who had been reading the series. Didn't draw me in, but was a solid story nonetheless.

"Make it Snappy" by Faith Hunter
Vampire story that just didn't do it for me. Sexist vibes. Skip

"Chase the Fire" by Jon F. Merz
Seems like a solid short story from a longer series. Will take a look at it.

"Unexpected Choices" by Diana Pharaoh Francis
Another solid-enough short story for those who are already immersed in the series it goes with. Didn't draw me in enough to read more.

"Reel Life" by Steven Savile
This story just was frustrating & illogical. The villain was dumb. Skip

"The Difference Between Deceit and Delusion" by Domino Finn
A story w/ djinn's. Different & intriguing enough I'll take a look at the series it is part of.

"Balance" by Seanan McGuire
Unique & interesting alien villains. Will look into his other works

"Everywhere" by Sam Witt
Nah. Skip
