No pictures, but fairly simple recipes. Like the idea better than the execution, but will try the Cucumber, Feta & Dill Salsa, Cold Sesame Noodle Salad and the quick pickles.
Update: I've now made 3 recipes: Roasted Cauliflower Macaroni and Cheese, Spring Veggie Chicken Pot Pie and Big Batch Bolognese. All were excellent. I'll be asking for this one for Christmas!
Interesting concept for a cook-book. Based on the premise of making food for others: new parents, someone who is ill, condolences, book clubs, church get-togethers and block parties. Advice is given on each recipe about how to serve it, what to serve with it and freezing information. As I looked through it I found about 20 recipes that I want to try, some of them well outside my normal comfort range of foods. The rating may change if I try the recipes and they aren't very good but as of now I appreciate the ideas and originality of the design. Having gone through a freezer of prepared food when my 2nd child was born last year I like the idea.

The only thing that could have made this book better is pictures! Loved it. Check my full review out here:http://www.girlichef.com/2011/01/cookbook-review-good-neighbor-cookbook.html
Found a nice recipe for orzo salad that I plan to try later.
Honestly, this cookbook has yet to steer me wrong. And it's strangely helpful when you encounter these weird events. (Like what do you make for a block party when you grew up in the country and have never actually been to one of these things?) Added bonus - it was around $2 for the Kindle on Amazon.
