This was like a 3.5 star book. there were three separate stories, none of which felt completed, especially the one with the OG character. I guess the last one was okay, but they were all disconnected. It was unsatisfying. I liked the writing style and the plot and mystery and it moved at the perfect pace. But because the stories were so disconnected, 3.5.

23 & 1/2 lies is a book with 3 stories:
Book 1 is from the series The Women’s Murder Club. This story was a rough one for MC Lindsay Boxer. Her dad was murdered and Lindsay was faced with the task of finding his killer. The other ladies of the club were involved in the second story which surrounded a woman with multiple personalities being raped.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 2 is from the Texas Ranger series - a relatively new series from James Patterson. MC Rory Yates is faced with the possibility that one of his own, an ex-Texas Ranger is suspected of carrying out robberies across Texas.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 3: was a standalone story which features Mr Cooke taking a job that is outside of the scope of his abilities and this job becomes more complicated that he expected.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️.5

I was quite shocked this wasn’t an entire book about the Women’s Murder Club. Anyway. Books 1, 2 are fabulous! I now need to go read the Rory Yates books!
Wasn't expecting this would be a collection of short stories and was surprised when 23 1/2 lies ended so relatively abruptly. That said, this ended up being good because I'm not sure I'd have picked up the other two titles, and I really enjoyed Fallen Ranger. This should have been just the two as the 3rd was barely more than a short story with neither character nor plot development.
Fallen Ranger was a really good, traditional Patterson story with character development, logical albeit twisted plot and a couple of plot twists. I liked the dynamic between Rory and Parker and his family.

23 1/2 lies was just weird. The series has turned into the Lindsay Boxer story and while I love her, Joe and Julie, I miss more about all of them. And do we really gain anything by her formerly dead father dying again?Fallen Ranger was a really good, traditional Patterson story with character development, logical albeit twisted plot and a couple of plot twists. 3 short stories, the first about Lindsay and her father. The second about a new character I would love to read more about - Rory, a Texas Ranger. Written with Andrew Bourelle. The third was ok, but not special.
