I've only heard rave reviews about this book and I was actually happy that the extent of my Katie Couric knowledge was just that she was on the Today Show and Matt Lauer. Reading her book was like meeting someone new and learning their whole life story over wine. She's candid, shares her entire journey, the ups and downs, her love life, and is very real.
Just from what I've read, she definitely has haters, but don't we all. She focused on continuing the journey with as much passion and commitment regardless.

I haven’t followed Katie Couric’s career closely - never really watched her morning or news shows. She writes an interesting memoir for anyone to enjoy - the casual observer like me or her most loyal fan.
I’ve always loved Katie Couric and have been waiting to check this out at the library for weeks. Was interesting to hear the back story on a lot of things. Not the most interesting autobiography I ever read but kept me reading.
That was longggg. I feel like there was a point where people were raving about this book and I read it and I was like .... Why did I read this lol? Its called going there and I thought it was mostly gonna be about all the scandals in the news industry but it was basically about her life from start to finish with a little bit of that sprinkled in and yeah it was just a lot and didn't really seem to have a point to it? Really just a summary of her whole life. If you grew up watching her on TV it might have been a different experience but since I didn't I was kinda just waiting for the good part to happen (which never really did) and just excited for it to end
A wisecracking memoir that's also exceptionally full of valuable U.S. journalism history that might've been lost had Going There been the opus of a less forthcoming reportrix of the milieu (fathom Diane Sawyer joking about her own road trip "swampass" and her daughter getting the runs).
Couric owns a lot without explaining away her missteps and blind spots. It sounds silly, but if I could foist one book at every American white woman, it would be this one. Katie never uses the word to describe herself, but she certainly holds herself -- and her nearests and dearests -- accountable. Despite its passions, there is not an iota of self-victimization or shrinking violethood in the memoir. Best read in full. What a broad.

I loved it. I feel memoirs shouldn't pull any punches, and I'm glad she reached a place where she could be candidly honest.
I ran the full spectrum of emotions. It was so well written that certain parts brought me to tears.
