This is fine, but not the best memoir in the world. She got a lot of press for smack talking people and she really does a lot of smack talking in this book, some of it unfair i would say. She included some descriptions of secondary people with mean spirited stuff, and I don’t really think it added anything but mean spiritedness. But it kept me entertained and I think it warrants more attention that she went on a date with Michael Jackson once. Just sayin

What a career! She has reported on every major event in the last 40-50 years. I grew up wanting to be Katie Couric so this was a wonderful book to read about her life and career alongside a depiction of each historical event. It had me reliving some tough moments in history and seeing it from a new light behind a reporter's eyes and words.

I didn’t have an opinion on Katie Couric before reading this book, but after finishing, I have to say I’m not a big fan. I listened to the audiobook, which she read herself. It was neat to hear because she included some clips from her interviews and anchoring. However, for a journalist, I don’t think the book was very well written, which left me disappointed.

Katie Couric holds nothing back in her memoir! From obsessed nannies, to behind the scenes at every news job she held, to her friendship with Matt Lauer, Couric does not shy away from anything, including her own poor choices.
The audiobook is read by Katie Couric and includes audio clips from her interviews. I highly recommend listening to the audio if you have a chance!

Watching the Today Show was something I did from my early college days until I moved overseas 15+ years later. I have always been interested in the behind the scenes, and this book was an excellent overview of what I didn’t see while I was watching. I liked remembering along with the author what was a big part of my morning routine for many years. The writing, history, and transparent perspective here made this book a good review of what has happened in Americana 30+ years.
I really really enjoyed this book. I also am a big fan of the Today show where Katie worked for a long time. You have to respect the hustle she went through while raising a family and the passing of her first husband.
