Alex Gross' dreamlike art that is at once realistic - and darkly animatedly depressing, with pop culture references, fairy tales, and imagery of Western and Asian art - the combination of Japanese figures in Kimonos and lost-looking Victorian dandies juxtaposed in a background of haunting, surreal landscapes shows how creative and unique this art form (pop-surrealism) can be.
