I loved this book! The illustrations were *chefs kiss*, stunning. I loved that this book didn’t focus so much in the relationship between the protagonist and the whale, but it was just, I loved seeing more of Rio (not saying i didn’t love the bond in the last whale, just loved that this book focused on others). I LOVED the discussion of mental health, in such an approachable way for the target audience, it’s challenging the stigma and I love it!!!!! I also loved the recognition of the difficulties of relationships between children and adults, and the struggles between parents and their children (something that was also done superbly in the last bear, but failed to recognise). I love the bond between rio and white beak, so cute. I most importantly, loved the subtle educational quotes, especially those highlighting that we have to keep fighting to end plastic pollution. It tugs at the heart strings when it highlights that we are damaging the ocean,  it makes it so real. Loved all the characters and especially the relationships formed between all characters. I love the name Marina as well how cool. Overall, loved it, fabulous read!!
