@ Frigga, let me read a great marvel book soon

It’s been 84 years

Everything done in this book was pretty much covered in Black Widow: The Name of Rose and done 100% better. This is just a book of a creepy man being unable to take "no" for an answer.

Covering all of Natasha's past loves, she was given a nanobyte virus transmitted through contact by a man who raised her but secretly always wanted to bone her. It's gross and the character deserves better.

The only parts I latched onto were Natasha's closeness with Tony and her lack of identity.

Definitely not a recommend. Just read The Name of the Rose.

In my opinion slightly rushed story-line. There is no tension here because it is more than obvious that Black Widow will defeat all of her enemies.

Where this volume delivers is personal history of Black Widow - how she became super-spy and assassin. Everything else seems to be just a background story to keep the page-count at regular level. I think that they could have done much better - for example imagine story in the likes of Wolverine Origins or X-Weapon, that would be awesome :) - but I guess that Black Widow was always on the margins and not class-A Marvel hero.

Nevertheless interesting story (character background) and therefore 3.5 stars (3 stars in goodreads since I cannot find half-star rating :))

Recommended for fans of Marvel's hero stories and Black Widow in particular.

I really liked volume 1 since it was showing Natasha's history as a child in the USSR. As soon as I picked up volume 2, though, it went downhill. There are tons of time shifts and it was a bit annoying, but even more frustrating was the ending. Really? Ivan? The guy who helped raise Natasha since she was a CHILD harbored feelings for her the whole time? And because he was so jealous of all her lovers, he tried to show her that she was a slut before he killed her? Good lord. I didn't like the nanites storyline in the first place, but that really solidified it for me that this was on the low end for me.

I wanted a little bit more of the romance between Natasha and Tony, Steve, Hawkeye and the others... but overall I really really liked it. :)

Meh. I kind of hated the time jumps and while it explained a lot about the actual story it pulled me out of the story every time. Also, there were so many different art-styles it was kind of annoying tbh. Also, Tasha dear, zip up your suit your tits are cold.
