Loved this. Such a vast improvement from the last BookTok recommendation I'd read with proper character development, a well constructed world and enough of a tickly cliffhanger that I have had to download the second in the series as an ebook because I couldn't find it at any bookstore where I am on holidays.

‘Rhysand stared at me for long enough that I faced him. “Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”’

Words cannot explain how much I loved this book… just wow. This is one of those books I am truly glad it got recommended to me.

Plot

If you are reading this solely for the romance — especially Rhysand — then this definitely will become boring. Rhys is not introduced until near page 200– which I have seen many people be disappointed about.

Through social media I also seen people complain about this book and how they found it incredibly boring and only read it because of what’s going to happen within the following books.
PERSONALLY I loooooved this book the plot had me hooked.

This book is ( for me ) a rare occasion when I actually never felt confused reading fantasy. It was all rather straight forward and my little pea brain was not challenged too much.

Feyre —

I looove Feyre.
We need more female main characters like her.
Ones who prove that you can be both powerful and independent whilst being in love and wanting love.

Tamlin + Rhysand —

Including them both as they will both serve as Feyre’s love interest.

Tamtam is not that bad … so far.
I mean it is giving Stockholm Syndrome and also the fact he only ever brought her to phytherian with the sole intention of marrying him.
But based of his actions there is nothing absolutely extreme … yet, and I hope there won’t be

Rhysand ( my husband ) I love a misunderstood villain.
Every single damn time this man’s name came up I was actually screaming.

Don’t get me wrong he did some shit during this book but I’m the forgiving type after all.

I felt like this book started off quite slow but towards the end got so good! Great foundational book in a fantasy series I think. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds!
