“They come because that’s where humans bring the corpses.”
“That’s fine. If he’s leading us to corpses, that’s where I want to go.”
“You must be popular at the nun parties. Do you have any friends? Just out of
curiosity.”
My hands tightened on the reins. Sophia might count, but she was
eight years old, so that seemed embarrassing to admit out loud.
“Do you?” I asked without inflection.
“I’ve been trapped inside a relic for the past century. What’s your excuse?”

4.25/5 //e: actually you know what. 4.5/5 rounding up, the more I think about it the more I love it and having some more background knowledge (I'm glad my radar was right, Artemisia being neurodivergent aroace is not just Vibes but the author confirmed it, which makes my nd aroace heart extremely happy) I prob liked this just as / almost as much as SoT

I guess I gotta read An Enchantment of Ravens now because Margeret Rogerson is 3/3 on books I've read and adored

Very good, kept me entertained and involved. I like the bantering and the surprise friendship.. goes to show you that actions by others even though it seems cruel, should never jump to a conclusion about.. it’s a simple question.. why did you do that? And followed by.. How you understood the action to be… because people will never understand each other sides especially if they have to guess. Communication is key.
