The previous two books were not great either, but this was like a revisit of the plot of the first book. To be honest, I should have DNF’d this series on the first book.

DNF 54%. I didn’t hate it, but I just couldn’t justify putting any more time into a series that wasn’t developing. It’s the same plot from the first and second books. Abigail wanders a maze, Valroy antagonizes and charms her, they talk about how vile he is. On repeat for 3 books (though I’m sure the pattern will continue into the 4th).
I do love the banter and the setting, just not enough to continue reliving the same scenes over another 500 pages.
