Es complicado que haga una reseña imparcial del libro por varias razones. En primer lugar, es una opera prima que he comprado a precio de risa en amazon, lo que me hace sentir cierto cariño por la autora. En segundo lugar, se desarrolla en Santander, ciudad que conozco bien. Habitualmente leemos aventuras que ocurren en lugares ajenos, pero al desarrollarse esta a 200km de mi casa ya me tiene ganado.
Subjetividades a parte, me ha gustado mucho la novela. Es cierto que el tema de la longevidad se ha tratado muchas veces en la literatura CiFi, pero en este caso lo tenemos complementado con una historia romántica, que para mi no desmerece el resto del libro.
Mención especial merece el mimo con el que la autora se ha documentado. La parte "biológica" es razonablemente plausible y se nota que no es una mezcla al azar de términos científicos.
En definitiva: Historia, romanticismo y ciencia-ficción aunados en una novela que entretiene y que yo he disfrutado mucho.

I could not put this book down and spent a few too many nights staying up way too late. It was refreshing to read a book about immortals who weren't vampires, werewolves, mermaids, etc., but who were normal people who happened to live through several millennia. I especially liked that you could see how contemporary events were affected by family members' actions thousands of years ago, hundreds of years ago, or even tens of years ago.

I can't wait for the second book; that cliffhanger was crazy!

This was an excellent book! I was pleasantly surprised by how well written and wonderful it was to read. Even though it was a lengthy book, not once did I find myself bored while reading it. Overall it is solid. It is wonderful to read a book that you can't find any flaws with, which is rare for myself. If I were to describe this book in one word, I would use the word, lovely. It was simply and fantastically lovely.

Original, adictiva, escrita en doble primera persona que te hace sentir más cercano a los sucesos. Ha sido mi primer libro de esta autora y ha sido una total sorpresa, de esos libros que empiezas y buscas cualquier momento para cogerlo y saber como avanza la historia y sus personajes.

The dialogue was quite stilted. I don't know if it was the translator or the stiff narrators (audio version) so I didn't think it would be fair to penalize because of it. I do think that the book would have been more interesting if it spent more time in the past. The story in the present is really just another love story between two beautiful people, which is not all that compelling to me. But it entertained me during my commute, so it is worth the read and I will get the other books in the series.
